Ai Automation Developer
Job descriptions & requirements
Company Description Power Resources International Ltd is a critical metals producer specializing in high-purity oxides and refined metals.
About the Role - On site, Kigali, Rwanda
We are seeking a hands-on AI Automation Developer to help build the next generation of digital workflows across our mining, refining, trading, finance, procurement, HR, inventory, maintenance, laboratory, and compliance operations in Rwanda.
This is a practical automation role, not a research-only AI position. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of Odoo ERP, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Copilot/AI agents, operational data, and industrial workflows. The role will involve designing, developing, testing, and maintaining automation tools that improve operational control, reporting accuracy, process discipline, data capture, and decision-making across a vertically integrated critical minerals business.
The AI Automation Developer will collaborate closely with operations, engineering, finance, procurement, HR, compliance, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities, reduce manual work, improve data quality, and support reliable, scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain AI-enabled workflow automations across mining, refining, procurement, inventory, maintenance, HR, finance, laboratory, trading, and compliance processes.
* Develop integrations and automations around Odoo v18 Enterprise, including modules such as Accounting, Inventory, Procurement, HR, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Projects, Documents, Approvals, Quality, and asset management.
* Build Microsoft 365-based workflows using tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio, where appropriate.
* Create AI assistants, workflow agents, and automation tools that can help staff search company knowledge, generate structured reports, capture operational information, and follow approved procedures.
* Integrate systems through APIs, scripts, scheduled jobs, database queries, connectors, and low-code/no-code automation platforms.
* Support data capture and reporting workflows for mine-to-plant-to-refinery operations, including production reporting, maintenance logs, inventory movements, chain-of-custody data, QA/QC records, and management dashboards.
* Work with teams to map existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and convert manual workflows into controlled digital processes.
* Build secure, reliable, and auditable automation frameworks that respect system-of-record rules, data governance, user permissions, and document control.
* Develop scripts, tools, and dashboards to improve management visibility across operational performance, compliance, procurement, maintenance, finance, and HR.
* Test, validate, document, and monitor automation solutions to ensure reliability, accuracy, security, and ease of use.
* Provide technical support and training to business users adopting new workflows and AI tools.
* Help maintain clear technical documentation, process maps, user guides, and change-control records.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the company’s digital systems and operational reporting environment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Strong experience in process automation, workflow design, systems integration, or business process digitisation.
* Strong software development skills, ideally including Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and scripting for automation.
* Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Odoo, including modules, workflows, approvals, user permissions, reporting, and integrations.
* Experience with Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Power Automate, Power Apps, and related workflow tools.
* Ability to design and implement AI-enabled tools using large language models, AI agents, prompt engineering, retrieval-based knowledge systems, or workflow assistants.
* Good understanding of databases, data structures, APIs, access controls, and data quality principles.
* Ability to translate real operational problems into practical technical solutions.
* Strong quality assurance mindset, including testing, validation, error handling, monitoring, and documentation.
* Ability to work with non-technical users, understand their workflows, and build tools that are simple, reliable, and useful.
* Strong written and spoken English.
