The Project
This is an opportunity to work on a state-of-the-art landmark project in Rwanda. Mace have been delivering PMC services on major aviation projects for several years, increasing passenger capacity and improving overall services
You’ll Be Responsible For

• Provide day-to-day construction management oversight of allocated building packages, monitoring programme, quality, safety, and cost performance.
• Review and challenge contractor short-term programmes (3-week look-ahead and 12-week rolling programme); identify and escalate delays early.
• Attend and chair daily/weekly site progress meetings with the main contractor; produce accurate meeting minutes and action trackers.
• Monitor and enforce quality compliance; review method statements, ITPs, and raise NCRs where required.
• Ensure all works are executed in compliance with the Project HSE Management Plan; stop work where unsafe conditions are observed.
• Review and approve construction sequences, temporary works designs, and site logistics plans.
• Identify and report variations, change events, and early warnings in accordance with contract procedures.
• Manage interface issues between building works, civil/infrastructure works, and MEP/special systems installations.
• Contribute to monthly progress reports with accurate construction progress data, photos, and programme commentary.
• Support the commissioning and handover process for completed building works.
  

You’ll Need To Have

• Minimum 10 years' construction management experience on major building or airport projects; experience of multi-package delivery environments preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, steel framing, cladding systems, and internal fit-out.
• Familiar with NEC or FIDIC contract mechanisms; able to administer early warnings and compensation events.
• Experience of working in Sub-Saharan Africa or comparable developing market environments preferred.
• Degree or HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management; SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification.
• Robust and assertive communicator; able to maintain standards under programme pressure.
