Role Description This part-time Dog Groomer role at Pet Guardian is a hybrid position based in Kigali, with some tasks that can be completed from home (such as scheduling, customer communication, or record keeping). Day-to-day responsibilities include bathing, brushing, clipping, trimming nails, and overall grooming to ensure dogs are clean, comfortable, and well-presented. The Dog Groomer will handle pets safely and gently, monitor their behavior and well-being during grooming, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. The role also involves interacting with pet guardians, discussing grooming needs, providing updates, and delivering courteous customer service. The Dog Groomer may assist with basic pet care duties at the facility and support the team with grooming-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform Pet Grooming and Clipping with attention to safety, comfort, and quality.
• Experience in Pet Care, including handling dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and coat types.
• Strong Customer Service skills to provide a positive experience for pet guardians.
• Clear and respectful Communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of basic animal health and behavior signs to identify stress or discomfort.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight, and perform repetitive grooming tasks.
• Organizational skills to manage appointments, maintain grooming equipment, and keep accurate records.
• Prior experience as a dog groomer or relevant training/certification in pet grooming is preferred.
• Commitment to humane, non-discriminatory treatment of all pets and respectful collaboration with colleagues.
