Oversee the implementation and enforcement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across all operational areas. Lead and manage the HSE team, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary. Develop and maintain the HSE management system, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Monitor and analyse HSE performance metrics and prepare reports for management review. Participate in emergency response planning and drills and ensure readiness to handle emergencies effectively. Stay abreast of emerging HSE trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the organization's HSE programs. Represent the company in HSE-related meetings, forums, and regulatory inspections.
Job Requirements And Competencies Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • 10+ years of experience in HSE management on large-scale construction projects;
  • At least 3+ years of experience on high-rise buildings, ideally involving hotel, residential or commercial mixed-use spaces;
  • HSE certifications: NEBOSH IGC (essential), ISO & ISO Auditor Certification (preferred);
  • Experience working in Africa or in developing countries with challenging environments preferred;
  • Familiarity with international and local labor, health, and environmental laws and practices;
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in diverse environments;
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office tools and AutoCAD;
  • Fluent in English;
