About the role

JS AFRICA is recruiting an International After-Sales Technician / Consultant to support the installation, maintenance and after-sales service of advanced equipment used in animal reproduction, genetics and biotechnology.

Working closely with one of the leading international companies in animal reproduction technologies, you will combine hands-on technical work, international travel, customer training and technical consulting.

This is a highly field-oriented position for someone who enjoys technology, problem-solving, customer interaction and working internationally.

Your main responsibilities

You will:

  • Install and commission technical equipment at customer sites.
  • Diagnose technical issues and perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support.
  • Train customers and laboratory teams in English and French.
  • Carry out technical assignments across Sub-Saharan Africa, France and internationally.
  • Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, maintenance history and spare parts.
  • Prepare professional technical reports and intervention documentation.
  • Advise customers on equipment use, preventive maintenance and laboratory organisation.

The position will progressively develop into a technical consulting role, making you a trusted technical reference for customers and partners.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a higher education qualification in:

Biotechnology | Bioengineering | Biological Engineering | Biogenetics | Biomedical Engineering | Animal Reproduction | or a related technical/scientific field.

Experience with animal reproduction, artificial insemination, semen-production laboratories or biotechnology equipment is a strong advantage, but we are also interested in technically curious candidates capable of learning complex equipment.

You should be:

Fluent in both French and English, comfortable working independently, technically curious and methodical, customer-oriented, comfortable in multicultural environments, and willing to travel regularly.

Must be a national of Rwanda or Ethiopia, or hold a valid residence and work permit in one of these two countries.

Must hold a valid passport.

Must have an administrative and travel profile allowing regular and reasonably straightforward access to business visas for France and the Schengen Area.

Must be able and willing to travel regularly within Africa and internationally.

What we offer

A unique opportunity to develop an international technical career in biotechnology and animal reproduction, combining fieldwork, advanced technology, training and customer consulting.

The position includes regular international assignments, with professional travel, accommodation and per diem covered, as well as a professional laptop and mobile phone.
