Job Summary: In this role, you will leverage your native fluency and cultural knowledge to contribute meaningfully to the development of next-generation AI systems. Your linguistic insight will directly influence how AI models understand and process real-world language. No background in AI or technology is required — your expertise in Kinyarwanda is what we value most.
Key Responsibilities

• Listen to and transcribe Kinyarwanda audio and video recordings accurately, noting exact timestamps throughout.
• Capture the emotional tone, mood, and intent of speakers to provide meaningful context for AI training datasets.
• Review and assess grammatical structures, sentence patterns, and syntax across Kinyarwanda and English content.
• Break down the meaning, cultural relevance, and usage of idiomatic or nuanced expressions in Kinyarwanda.
• Support a wide range of language-focused tasks including translation validation, data labeling, and linguistic review.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism across all deliverables, both written and spoken.
• Dedicate a minimum of 15 hours per week to assigned tasks, meeting all project milestones on schedule.
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Kinyarwanda, paired with strong working proficiency in English.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills with a keen eye for linguistic detail and tonal sensitivity.
• Hands-on experience in transcription, data annotation, or any form of structured language work.
• Ability to recognize and document tonal, grammatical, and contextual nuances within spoken and written content.
• Skilled at explaining complex linguistic ideas clearly to both technical and general audiences.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to maintain consistent output with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working remotely with reliable access to the tools and connectivity needed for the role.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous involvement in translation, localization, or language data collection projects.
• Academic or professional grounding in linguistics, with familiarity in Bantu or East African language studies.
• Exposure to AI-driven tools, speech technologies, or machine learning workflows is a plus.
