UMURI Foundation is a Sport for Development organization that uses football to empower young people, especially those from vulnerable and underserved communities. We run programs that promote education, life skills, social inclusion, and protection through sport.

Role overview

We are looking for a creative Communications & Media Intern to help us tell our stories better from the football pitch to the community. The intern will support our online presence, visual content creation and documentation of our impact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and update UMURI Foundation’s social media platforms (content planning, posting, engagement)
• Create designs using design tools (flyers, posters, social media cards, basic reports)
• Support content creation: stories, captions, blog posts, newsletters, success stories
• Take and edit photos and videos during activities and events
• Support video editing for short clips, testimonials and recaps
• Assist in developing communication materials (brochures, presentations, one-pagers)
• Help maintain a media archive (photos, videos, quotes, stories)

Required profile

• Recent graduate or student in Communication, Media, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design or related field
• Strong interest in NGO work and youth/sport-related initiatives
• Practical skills in social media management (Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok is a plus)
• Ability to use Canva or similar design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. is an added advantage)
• Basic video editing skills (e.g. CapCut, VN, Premiere, Filmora or similar tools)
• Good writing skills in English and Kinyarwanda (creative and clear)
• Creative, detail-oriented and comfortable working in the field during activities
