Process Control Engineer

We're hiring: Process Control Engineer

PowerX Ltd · Special Economic Zone, Bugesera, Rwanda

PowerX refines critical minerals in the Bugesera SEZ, and we're looking for a hands-on Process Control Engineer to make sure our refinery runs stable, safe and measurable.

What you'll do:

• Develop and optimise control strategies, loops, set points, alarms and operating limits

• Specify, commission and troubleshoot process instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow, level, pH, conductivity)

• Build and maintain PLC / SCADA / DCS logic, interlocks and permissives, with proper documentation and Management of Change

• Use process data to improve throughput, recovery, energy use and stability

• Digitise manual data collection and build the dashboards production relies on

• Support HAZOP, HAZID and LOPA studies, FAT/SAT, commissioning and start-up of new installations

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Control, Automation or Electrical Engineering (or related)

• Industrial experience in process control, automation or chemical/mineral processing

• Hands-on PLC, SCADA or DCS experience, including control-loop tuning

• A solid grasp of process safety systems, alarm management and P&IDs

• A practical, systematic approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to perform under production pressure
