1. JOB PURPOSE:
The Quality Officer reports directly to the Quality Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Farming Operations Manager.
The Quality Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of the Company's Quality Management System across all farming operations, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, certification schemes, and applicable regulatory requirements.
The role involves close collaboration with operational teams to promote quality awareness, monitor compliance, identify areas for improvement, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Officer also serves as a key liaison with external auditors, certification bodies, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders regarding quality-related matters.
The Quality Officer is responsible for monitoring and reporting quality performance, highlighting risks, non-conformities, and improvement opportunities to the Quality Manager and Farming Operations Manager. He/She supports the development and execution of action plans to ensure continuous improvement and the effective implementation of quality standards across all Farming production sites.
2. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in poultry, livestock, agriculture, or food production.
- Good knowledge of quality systems, audits, and certification standards (GlobalG.A.P., HACCP, ISO 22000 or equivalent).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and report preparation.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with auditors and operational teams, and possession of a valid driving license.
3.KEY RESULT AREAS:
Quality Management
• Coordinates the implementation of quality standards across farming sites and ensures compliance with company, customer, certification, and regulatory requirements.
Quality Monitoring
• Monitors quality performance, analyses quality data, and prepares regular reports highlighting non-conformities, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Administrative Organisation
• Ensures quality records, procedures, and documentation are properly maintained and updated in accordance with company and certification requirements.
Corrective Actions
• Coordinates and follows up corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, inspections, and identified non-conformities.
Human Resource
• Supports the training and development of operational teams on quality standards, biosecurity requirements, and best practices.
