Role Description The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Kigali. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases that support business-critical applications. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring database performance, optimizing queries, managing backups and recovery, and implementing high-availability and replication solutions. The role involves ensuring database security, managing user access and privileges, and applying patches and updates according to best practices. The Senior Oracle Database Administrator also collaborates with application and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, support deployments, and improve overall data architecture and reliability.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Oracle Database Administration and general Database Administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
• Candidates should possess experience with Replication and high-availability solutions to ensure data integrity and system resilience.
• Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving database performance, availability, and configuration issues.
• Candidates should possess solid Database Security skills, including access control, encryption, auditing, and compliance with security policies.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, and familiarity with Oracle tools and utilities (e.g., RMAN, Data Guard, OEM/Cloud Control).
• Candidates should possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to document procedures and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and several years of experience in a senior or lead database administration role.
• Experience working in secure or regulated environments and relevant Oracle certifications (such as OCP or OCM) are beneficial.
