Key Responsibilities
- Manage all tax-related activities and ensure compliance with Rwanda tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review tax returns, VAT filings, PAYE, withholding tax, and other statutory submissions.
- Ensure timely payment of all taxes and maintain accurate tax records.
- Liaise with tax authorities and handle tax audits, assessments, and inquiries.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on tax implications and compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to improve tax efficiency and minimize risks.
- Support financial reporting processes by ensuring accurate tax provisions and reconciliations.
- Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on tax matters.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with transfer pricing and statutory requirements where applicable.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to tax expenses and liabilities.
- Prepare tax reports for management review and decision-making.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax management or finance-related roles.
- Strong knowledge of Rwanda tax laws and statutory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
